Shot peening is a cold working process used to modify the mechanical properties of metals and composites and to create a compressive residual stress layer.
It is a higher version of black oxy and oxidation coating. It is a preferred process in the automotive and machinery sectors. The difference with oxidation blackening is that its salt test resistance is over 24 hours.
This coating process provides high corrosion resistance thanks to the specially produced chemical. S40 coating provides more advanced protection than burine coating, which is the upper version of oxidation coating.
