The Praktikant GSD conventional precision lathe is designed for use in modern training. In addition to its high precision and robust design, it is characterised by extensive safety features. This includes, for example, a pole-changing main drive and automatic manual disengagement, a cover for the feed and lead spindles and a two-channel safety system. All maintenance points are easily accessible and chips are collected in a removable tray for quick disposal. The compact Praktikant GSD has a centre width of 650 mm and a swing diameter over the bed of 320 mm. A main spindle made of alloyed and case-hardened steel, which is mounted on high-precision tapered rollers, ensures precise machining results even after many years of operation. The acceptance tolerances according to DIN 8605 are clearly undercut. A 3.1 kW drive and a speed range of 48 to 2,500 rpm simplify the turning of small and complex workpieces
